Meet Sally

An example from the Jazplash collection:

Color Blind

A color blind world?
I never liked the word
colorblind
It seems so shallow
Like you don't see me
At all
And life is like that already
Colorblind, you say
That no, you don't see my color
That color makes no difference?
Well, then you don't see me.
I am who I am
Color and all
Do not strive to be colorblind
Embrace me, totally
I am human
I bleed when you cut me
My heart can break
My soul will ache
when you don't see...Me.

Colorblind
I never liked the word
Being blind to color
Means you cannot see
The splendor within me
And there is splendor to be seen
Do not erase me!
You only need look close
To Find me
And all that makes me different
Yet the same
It is not a colorblind world
We need

Just plain blind
Is the problem
To not see the glorious peoples
Around you
See the many colors
Hear their voices
Understand how we all share
the same
Human and sacred bond
Celebrate our difference
But realize our oneness!
